Non-violent Guest:

Front desk will If a guest or visitor is making you uncomfortable but is not being violent, you can call out to anyone who is in the office and say: 

 “Hi [Kim/Amy/Rachel/Betsy], could you please come to the front desk and help a guest?”

  • Ask the guest to take a seat.

  • Inform them that someone will come to assist them, in a few minsminutes.

  • Senior staff will assess the situation and may ask the front desk to use their office phone to make a call to the non-emergency UWPD, which is 5-UWPD from a campus phone and should be posted in each office by the phone.

Unhoused Guests in the

Building:

Call UWPD non-emergency (206) 543685-0507 8973 and tell them we have a homeless an unhoused visitor in the building and that we were advised to call for them to forward the information to Samia Murphy from REACH. They can’t forward the information if the person is not still in the building.

 If the individual seems to escalate or become a concern of injury to themselves, others or property: 

  • immediately phone Immediately call 911 if you can ( phone can be left off the hook or on hold, help will still arrive)

  • Send a message out to the “A&A All Staff” Team chat writing that you need assistance or the police immediately in GUG 211.

  • Tell the individual you will go get your supervisor and close yourself in an office with another staff member and then call 911.
