The two things that need to be kept in mind are:

  1. It is important for you, as the Grant Applicant, to know what sort of data you will be storing and where you will be storing it.

  2. Once you know the extent of the data you will be storing and where you will be storing it, only then, can you get your Data Storage and Protection Plan certified as meeting the requirement for NIST 800-171 R2.
