Health and Safety

The health and safety of all of those in the department are paramount. Please review the information below carefully.

Health and Safety Requirements

Prior to engaging in any building or testing activities all students are expected to take all A&A required safety training on an annual basis. This includes:

  • Covid-19 - Back to Work

  • Asbestos awareness (online)

  • Fire extinguisher (online)

  • Electrical safety - basic (online)

  • Lead awareness (online)

  • Hazard Communication Training -GHS Hazcom

  • Managing Lab Chemicals

  • Any other applicable safety training deemed advisable in discussions with the Faculty Advisor.

Accident & Injury Reporting

Any accident/incident in labs, courses, RSO activities and more should be submitted by a person with firsthand experience with the activity, and a UW Online Accident Reporting System (OARS) report should be filed. Please be sure to also email this report to aasafety@uw.edu.
