For a description of ASF, visit this page: Affiliated Programs

ASF sets the requirements for the application. The WSGC team facilities getting an initial pool of UW applicants, reviews applicants to establish the top two, and submits all info on the ASF liaison portal.

Liaison Portal

All relevant information to facilitate the application process is found on the University Liaison Portal. Typically the username is asf and the password is asf2023 or the current year.

Timeline

An example timeline is below. In order to ensure we meet the minimum threshold of eight applicants, we set the UW application deadline one month prior to the ASF initial deadline.

Application Process

  1. Update WSGC webpage and application as needed

  2. Update flyer (currently in Canva)

  3. Plan info sessions/other recruiting strategies, send out email blasts

  4. Keep an eye on number of applicants - extend deadline if needed

  5. Collect letters of recommendation via email

  6. Create folders for each applicant to save letters of recommendation

  7. Close application

  8. Check for conflict of interest with application reviewers

  9. Send final applications to reviewers (2023 reviewers are Owen and Kristi)

  10. Enter information for top 8 applicants into ASF system by deadline

  11. Establish top 2 applicants, notify them that we are submitting them as finalists

  12. Enter finalist materials into ASF system by deadline
