AA Grad Student Advising

Advising appointments

The Graduate Programs Manager for all A&A graduate students is Paul Neubert.

Paul's contact information:

  • Office: 317A Guggenheim Hall

  • Email:  aerograd@uw.edu

  • Phone: (206) 685-7250

COVID-19 UPDATE: I am available for Zoom advising appointments Monday-Friday. If there are no times available that work for you, please reach out via email. I will also hold drop-in advising during busy periods, which will be announced on the aa-grads email listserv.

Current graduate students are welcome to stop by my office during business hours for quick advising questions. If you need more than 15 minutes or prefer to have an appointment, book an appointment: https://paulneubert.youcanbook.me.

  • I'm generally available for advising drop-ins (on days I am in the office, TBD) between 10:30 am - 3:30 pm.

What your academic advisor helps with

  • Degree planning and progress checks (you can also run a degree audit in DARS, but it is often incomplete)

  • Add codes and project or thesis credit registration

  • Explaining your options and helping you understand department or UW policies and procedures

  • Enrollment verification, signing OPT forms, signing other paperwork as necessary

  • Telling you about various campus resources (things like diversity resources, student organizations, health and wellness, etc.).

  • Listening to you and understanding your situation, and referring you to the correct person or office for help when needed.

  • Doctoral exam and thesis presentation scheduling

My role as your Graduate Programs Manager is to be a resource for your academic and personal success through all stages of your time at UW.  All students are welcome at UW and the AA Department, and that extends to my office, too.  You are always welcome to approach me, for any reason.
