Using MS Outlook to access Gmail

We provide documentation at Migrate UW Google or UW Microsoft Content – IT Connect , and are recommending Outlook.

Configuring Outlook to connect to UW Google as it is quite easy and it is one of the UW-IT supported clients per Supported Gmail Clients – IT Connect (uw.edu) .  The primary trick to know is to have the user enter UWnetID@gamail.uw.edu to get Outlook to automatically configure for UW Google.
